LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE: Bernard Chen
Bernard Chen is an award-winning landscape photographer who has found his passion with a camera in his hands. He has a heart of an artist and is an aspiring nature photographer based out of Northern Virginia. Besides capturing beautiful landscapes, he has a passion for creating videos to inspire others to explore our world.
“When I picked up my first camera in 2009, I had no idea what I wanted to do. What I am doing today seemed like a far-fetched dream at the time, but I fell in love with photography and it became a passion that has carried me through many doors and to many friendships. I started teaching several years ago and have successfully instructed my own workshops from West Virginia to Maine, South Carolina to Montana, and thoroughly enjoy passing my knowledge to fellow photographers! I consider myself an adventure photographer, meaning I love to seek unique images that you wouldn’t see everyday. If I have to rock climb, I’ll do it. If I have to drop 200 feet into a cave, I’ll do it. If I have to backpack for days to get a shot, I’ll do it. The feeling of accomplishment after capturing that perfect image is well worth the risk for me. My ultimate goal is to give photographers a chance to have this kind of experience, to come out of their comfort zone to capture images they could only dreamed of before.”
